Kanye West Announces New Album: Will It Be Released Before 2016?

By

Rapper and producer Kanye West announced in early 2015 that he has been working on the development of his newest album. Kanye shared in one interview that there is no release date yet and that it will be a complete surprise.

West's friend and collaborator producer/poet Malik Yusef, disclosed that the 37 year-old rapper definitely wanted the album to be something different and something that his listeners are not familiar with. He told Rolling Stone, "Kanye was very declarative in his statement of 'I don't want this to be a regular Kanye album."

The partners have also been travelling extensively for the recording of the new album. According to Yusef, the "All of the Lights" singer had actually finished 20 songs already. Kanye shared in an interview with L.A. radio station Power 105.1: "I'm trying to get it finished. I'm trying to get it to the people... Release dates is played out. So the surprise is going to be a surprise. There go the surprise".

Unfortunately, as happens with sought-after artists and albums, one of Kanye's newest tracks off the new album suffered from a leakage. The song which leaked in August of last year was entitled "All Day," and was pulled out from its online sources immediately.

Regarding his album, Kim Kardashian's husband shared, "It's cookout music that just feels good." "This album is just embracing the music, embracing the joy, being of service to the people."

Last year, the rapper told GQ that he was actually considering the release of his new album to be on September of 2015. The singer said, "I was thinking [the record] could somehow come out in June", and added, "But then I'm like, I have to work on Adidas and be with my child."

Whether it will be in June or September, fans are without a doubt anticipating the nearing "surprise" release of Kanye's newest album.
