Anonymous Hacker Twitter Activists strike ISIS once again

Anonymous hacker twitter activists strike ISIS once again. Recently, they have released a list of accounts linked to militant group, in their attempt to pressure Twitter to curb the terrorists' online presence.

It was reported that 9,200 accounts are linked to the terrorist. It is the latest list that Anonymous has released, after a run of attempts to out Isis supporters using the site.

The Anonymous hacker twitter activists along with other several collaborators have revealed that 9,200 accounts are Islamic State supporters.

Many of those reviewed accounts are seen to have the black-and-white Islamic State flag, according to VOA. Several accounts have been active within minutes or days, while others have been suspended.

This is not the first time the hacktivist group to go against ISIS. Last month, Anonymous released a video on its website, aiming to get rid of the ISIS members from using the Internet as a tool for their propaganda. The next thing happened, Twitter suspended thousands of accounts linked to the Islamic State. Anonymous took credit for shutting down hundreds of users affiliated to Islamic State supporters in February.

It is said that hundreds of users and several activist groups helped in compiling the list. Twitter user @CtrlSec, a participant of the cyber move, said that of 11,660 accounts it had linked to Islamic State, Al-Qaeda, or other terror groups, about 2,000 remained active, while the remainder had been shut down.

Meanwhile, Isis experts have previously reported that though the effort of taking the accounts down is useful in stopping the floods of propaganda on the site, it does little to hit the actual core of Isis activity. Additionally, this move could lead to counter-productive effects, like taking down users that aren't affiliated with Isis.

However, Anonymous hacker twitter activists are really dedicated to their campaign, and will not stop giving the terrorists a lesson online.
