‘Fantastic Four’ Update: Miles Teller says characters are ‘humanized’

By

With the recent release of the "Fantastic Four" trailer, fans began to suspect that the sequel is far from its previous installments. Miles Teller confirmed their suspicions and said that the new "Fantastic Four" characters are "humanized."

"We're making it our own, we're taking a lot from the 'Ultimate Fantastic Four,' but I think we're humanizing these characters in a way that's never been done," said Teller in an interview with MovieFone.

Teller will be playing the role of the Fantastic Four's leader, Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic.

The all new "Fantastic Four" movie will be directed by John Trank, which according to some reports, did not please Fox with his version of the movie. According to some sources, some scenes had to be shot again because the network was displeased with the "Chronicle" director's take on the sequel, which took on a more "dark, moody tone," described Screen Rant.

Rumors about Trank no longer directing the sequel grew even more after the sequel was announced, but his name was not mentioned in the statement. While Teller was mum on the issue, the "Insurgent" star mentioned about the film's writer and producer, Simon Kinberg.

"I'm assuming Kinberg is going to be back because he is so good at creating those worlds," commented Teller. Teller seemed to hint that Kinberg may be back on the "Fantastic Four" sequel as he gushed on how Kinberg was "smart" at doing these kinds of movies, citing his success at doing the "X-Men: Days of Future Past" movie.

Teller also shared his thoughts on doing a "Fantastic Four" sequel. He said that as the sequel grows, he believes that the characters should also grow to be more realistic in a way that people can associate themselves with.

"Fantastic Four" will premiere on August 7, 2015. Its sequel is slated for a June 9, 2017 release.
