Sony has recently released "Bloodborne" and has, so far, received positive feedbacks from various reviews. The game is said to offer a different new combat system that is fresh and unique as well as offering the balance between being punishing yet fair and rewarding. It is also considered to be difficult even to most hardcore gamers. There are already tips and game guides that have been surfacing over the web to help those having a great deal of difficulty.
A post in The Independent said that Bloodborne offers a different new combat system that is fresh and unique, despite of its similarity in basic appearance with Hidetaka Miyazaki's other works. The "Bloodborne" fights are said to be difficult but offers the balance between being punishing yet fair and rewarding.
Take for example, fighting boss monsters. Obviously, they cannot be easily defeated. But a tip that says that players have to master the combat techniques and timing first do signal that the game is really quite a challenge. It is even recommended that players should not rely on their character's ability to transform into a very big monster or even if they have huge and maximum health bars.
Good thing there are those who are generous enough to share some helpful tips so that other players could enjoy the game more.
Gear Nuke mentioned a new type of stat in "Bloodborne" called "Beasthood". This stat determines the Beast Form or Beast Mode of the player. If this gets higher, it will get the character more closer into beasthood when transformed.
Currently, there are only two items that utilizes this stat in the game: the Beast Claw and the Beast Blood Pellet. These two items will give the character a transformation where a meter is given above their head, in which as the player attacks, the meter gets refilled. During this form, two things occur: increased attack damage on enemies and increased damage from enemy attacks.
The difference between these two items is that the Beast Blood Pellet is a "buff that refills the Beasthood meter with each attack". Meanwhile, the Beast Claw includes a unique attack that refills the Beasthood meter even without the Beast Blood Pellet buff. Both in other words have the same function (to refill the Beasthood) but does it in different ways.
International Business Times, India Edition posted also a handful of tips in playing "Bloodborne".
In the game, there is only one shield known as Wooden Shield. It will be given at the start of the game and is the only defensive shield in the game. This will help players "sail past early dangers". Take note also to bank on quick dodges and long-range guns.
"Bloodborne" enables players to choose a class called Origins, which was made in order to look at the difficulty level that a player can put himself. Milquetoast has fair stats in all areas and is an all-rounder that players could try out. Waste of Skin sets players to start at level 4 instead of level 10. In the Waste of Skin, players will start as weaklings, but this is an opportunity for them to arrange their stats the way they want it to be and better than others. Cruel Fate seems to be the most difficult since it focuses on Arcane stat that will enable players to use magic weapons.
Some of the stats in the "Bloodborne" are:
- Vitality - it shows the hitpoints, defense stat, and sustained damage. Softcapped at 30 and hardcapped at 50.
- Endurance - the green bar that shows the stamina. When being attacked, dodging, or running, it goes down. Hardcapped at 40 resulting a stamina of 160.
- Strength - it is the main stat of the game will determines the attack power. The attack power will affect when there is damage by melee weapons. Softcapped at 25 and hardcapped at 50.
- Bloodtinge - it affects the firearm's power. Softcapped at 25 and hardcapped at 50.
- Skill - it gives more damage when player uses skill weapons. Softcapps at 25 and hardcaps at 50.
- Arcane - it determines the magic skill but will only be used at the later part of the game. Softcapps at 25 and hardcaps at 50.

In the game, players will be allowed to choose five weapons that they could pick from the lot. The first set to choose from are the melee weapons which are available in the form of Saw, Axe, Cane. Saw weapons are faster but deals less damage. The Axe is the opposite of the Saw, plus it is also bigger. Cane is the most agile however it does not do any damage.
In the lot, Saw is considered as the most versatile.
The other set of weapons are the ranged weapons such as Blunderbuss and Pistol. The Blunderbuss is a short-ranged weapon that fires at a wide angle. This could be used when attacking a group of enemies. Pistol is a long-ranged weapon that makes more damage at a single target. It is also used to stun an enemy with the combination of melee attacks. Thus, creating high damages.
Blunderbuss is considered to be a better weapon.
Some tips for the game:
1. Fire back or attack within the given time in order to regain health once being attacked by an enemy.
2. Check the messengers that are on the floor hotspots in Hunter's Dream. They sell items.
3. Do not get surrounded by enemies once in "combat by observation" (pressed by the
"O" button). The "O" button will be very important.
4. Use blunderbuss to attack enemies in "combat by observation". This will delay their attacks. Then, use a swiping attack that will hit more enemies.
5. Keep on hitting enemies even after killing them in order to regain health.
6. Continue to explore in order to find a shortcut when trying to kill the Cleric Beast boss. They are very tricky to kill. Since this boss is near the rampart of the upper area of Yarnham (which is behind a duo of werewolves), draw the werewolves to the house since they cannot enter into the small door. It will give you an edge in killing the first boss.
7. Take your time to defeat the Cleric Beast since it attacks slowly. Be slow and use dash moves carefully in order to get behind it once it attacks. When at its behind, use heavy attacks and escape it by dodging.
8. Do not get stuck in the Cleric Beast's attacks.
9. Level-up first before attacking the Cleric Beast.
10. Be careful in going at turns else you might encounter Father Gascoigne (the second boss) prematurely. If you did, quickly turn back.
11. Once ready to attack the second boss, lure him to "the flat paved area up the stairs" in order to help you avoid his attacks.
12. Make a heavy attack that will deal a good damage during the second boss' slash attacks. Find room to make a heavy attack.
13. Upgrade weapons so that it would be easier to defeat the second boss and bring Molotov cocktails.
14. Use the "O" button to run and slide down ladders. Some creatures can climb up or come down ladders also, use the "O" button to knock them down.
15. Shoot before an enemy is just about to attack you and use R1 when the enemy is falling to deliver a high power attack.
16. Attack the enemy with full charge from behind and use R1 when the enemy is falling to deliver a high power attack.
It could be well for players to remember these tips so that they could enjoy the game more. As a post in International Business Times, India Edition also stated, "This game is difficult to even the most hardcore gamer out there."
