Nexus users can now have the latest update of their device as the Android 5.1 Lollipop is being released for Nexus 5, 6, 7, and 10, with the Nexus 10 as the first tablet to receive the update. Plus, the update will include addtional features that will offer maximum security and improved voice quality.
According to reports by GSM Arena, Google has recently promoted the factory images of the Android 5.1 Lollipop, and, even releasing it to various devices such as the Nexus 5. For the Nexus 10, it will have a 104.4 MB file that includes the OTA Android 5.1 upgrade with LMY47D build, which will bring performance tweaks, various bug fixes, and internal changes in order to reach stability.
Users, however, might take the update a day or more to reach their Nexus 10 tablets as the update will be introduced in phases. As a reminder, users will need to have their gadget batteries charged at least 50% in order to install the OTA update.
The Christian Post reported that the Lollipop Over-The-Air OS update has about 220.7 MB of file. This could be for the Nexus 5, 6, and 7. The significant updates will reportedly include Device Protection that will offer maximum security for owners who might lose their gadgets. This means that the device will remain locked even after factory reset, unless, the user signs in to their Google account. The latest update will also come with the High-Definition Voice feature, which will give a significantly-improved voice quality.
It could be recalled that the Lollipop memory leak problem was reported back in November. Tech Times via The Christian Post stated that there are still users experiencing this problem even having the latest OS. Besides this, there are also those experiencing random shutdowns, and weakened WiFi and data connectivity.
However, a spokesperson from Google reportedly assured that the glitches are not of an "urgent issue" and the bug fix is going to be pushed through. He said that the glitches are being fixed internally. "We do not currently have a timeline for public release," he also said,
