Destiny 1.1.2 Update: Colorblind Mode Pushed for Better Gameplay Experience

By

Destiny 1.1.2 patch is putting a new Colorblind Mode in the Settings of the shooter videogame for a better quality gameplay experience.

Destiny's developer Bungie has added the Colorblind Mode to give players options to enhance game's color with better contrast for clearer display.

Bungie's engineering lead Brad Fish expressed his excitement for the varying color options despite hurdles through a podcast on their website.

"Adapting the existing user interface to support various color blind modes turned out to be a fairly complex challenge, but we managed to build a flexible toolkit for our designers that helped them do just that with minimally-invasive surgery and no negative impact to existing functionality. I'm extremely excited for players to get their hands on this!" said Fish.

This re-mastered technology of Destiny will allow players usually caught in life and death circumstance to distinguish which weapon the enemy is holding. The Colorblind Mode includes Deutaranopia (red-green), Protanopia (red-green), and Tritanopia (yellow-blue).

Bungie's technical artist Nate Hawbaker said of the Colorblind Mode: "We hope the new modes enable more players to make quick decisions about the elements in the game that are most important. Since there is no such thing as a blue ammo drop, prioritizing the difference in shades was easier."

Aside from the Colordblind Mode, new audio options have been added in the Settings too. Chat Volume allows players to adjust headset or speaker's volume to hear other teammates better. Apart from this, players can also turn off musical scores of anthems of the game and play preferred tracks instead.

Music option is separated from the Settings. When it is set to Muted, no tracks will be playing through the game.

Bungie's audio head Jay Weinland said the audio team sincerely want to change the audio experience for the game.

Meanwhile, Bungie is putting added bonus after update 1.1.2 rolls out. Weiland said: "We've added a fun little audio Easter egg to the game. It'll be in there, somewhere. Once the update is live, see if you can find it."
