Residents of Stavropol in southern part of Russia encountered a bizarre incident a few nights ago. A mysterious bright light illuminated the sky, which caused the street lamps and other lighting fixtures in the locality to flicker. It scared the wits out of dwellers, and baffled experts.
Stavropol is is where the Russian Defense Ministry conducts military exercises, so launching rocket systems is commonplace. Back in 2009, spectacular lights had illuminated the skies of Norway and the bright display was attributed to the trajectory of a Russian missile's failed launch. It's a known fact that Russia continues to test technological warfare.
The strange glow that lit up the sky of Stavropol on the night of March 17, eye witnesses said, could not have come from a Russian missile nor from other forms of military exercise.
Some people have linked the light flash to northern lights that create an eerie glow in the sky. Northern lights or aurora borealis result from collisions between gaseous particles in the atmosphere with charged particles discharged from the sun's atmosphere. Meteorologists refuted, though, the theory that the lights emanated from a natural occurrence. Power engineers likewise confirmed that there were not power supply issues in the vicinity that could have caused the streetlights to go out. A Many people surmised that the blue & white light bursts may have been due to UFO or some kind of extraterrestrial activity.
Video footage of the intense light flash that was recorded by a passing car's dashboard camera has gone viral. UFO journalists lost no time in covering the occurrence. Odd light flares have been recorded in various parts of the world. UFO sightings, in particular, have been reported to have taken place in Switzerland, France, Abu Dhabi, Hawaii and the USA. Whether the bizarre incident in Stavropol was man-made, natural, or due to an alien spacecraft has yet to be confirmed.
