Even with "Grand Theft Auto Online" being released barely a month ago, rampant speculation has already begun on how the next installment in the franchise will shape up to be.
The game's developers are reportedly in the early stages of planning and creating the next game, and one of the first details they want to hammer out includes the location for the game.
Reports making the rounds online have said the latest title from the franchise will be set in a real world city, and London has been mentioned as the likely destination, according to Master Herald.
"Grand Theft Auto" has had a pseudo-London inspired backdrop for one of their flagship games in the past, but to place the game inside the actual city would be a direction the franchise has not gone in before.
Rumors of "Grand Theft Auto" going to London only grew more credible after the Creative VP for Rockstar Games Dan Houser commented on the current direction of the franchise, according to Realty Today.
"At the moment, it feels like GTA's DNA is contemporary-ish, American-ish, English-speaking-ish, because that's what it has been... But that doesn't necessarily limit it to those, that's just what we've done so far," said Houser.
The franchise could reportedly make a return to previous locations such as Liberty and Vice City or perhaps go with American cities with Portland and Chicago as mentioned in the rumors.
A big world containing all of the previous "Grand Theft Auto" locations has even been mentioned as a possibility for the latest installment of the game.
While fans eagerly await any new developments regarding "Grand Theft Auto 6," the franchise's current installment is still doing well with its online add-on breathing new life into the game.
Copies of "Grand Theft Auto V" for the Playstation 4 and Xbox One are now currently sold on Amazon and Target at the price of $40, according to IGN.
