Star Wars 1313 Isn't Dead Yet: Developers Are Resurrecting The Massive 3rd Person Game After Disney Pushed Its Development Aside, Release Date At The End Of 2015?

Star Wars 1313 is a massive 3rd-person action game but was canceled after Disney bought Lucasfilm. Although, the game's traces may be igniting The Force Awakens, it is retooled and reworked for a more movie-friendly title, not just for a new video game.

Three Star Wars video gamers are presently in the works for console and PC gaming systems. The three development firms that are in responsible of bringing these games to gamers are BioWare, Visceral Games and DICE. Each of these three firms are running inside the EA Games family.

BioWare released the RPG version of the game entitled Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, they may launch another online RPG in two years. Dice is set to launch Star Wars Battlefront towards the end of 2015 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

However, the video game part of the franchise was in big trouble. In 2004, Jim Ward, VP of Marketing at Lucasfilm, was promoted as President of LucasArts. Ward was the one behind for The Phantom Menace's now the famous media blitz, which gathered over $400 million for the film. Ward thought of outsourcing the game development to make it faster and more efficient. He cut-down the third party developers and reduced LucasArt's employees from 450 to 190. Fortunately, Republic of Commando, Battlefront and Knight of the Old Republic II made the Purge.

Indeed, Star Wars 1313 is a very ambitious game; it would have started with a prologue in Tattooine with different bounty hunters. The game would have worked with various crimes bosses and Boba Fett worked with Jabba the Hutt. Concept arts also show Fett is standing in from of Slave One and wearing the iconic helmet of his father. Star Wars 1313 happens in between the prequel and the first Star Wars trilogies. Fett also has a strong armor that signifies his strength.

Luckily, Battlefront, Knights of the Old Republic II, and Republic Commando survived the Purge. But dead, for example, were future Rogue Squadron games from Factor 5. Recently, Amy Hennig of Visceral Games and of course, EA Games announced that they are writing the plot for SW 1313. So, gamers and Star Wars fans out there, Star Wars 1313 is coming for resurrection.
