Project CARS Xbox One, PS4, PC release date set this May: Day Night Sytems, 30+ cars on real-world tracks and major details revealed

Project CARS release date is rescheduled Mid-May this year to Xbox One, PS4, and PC platforms in rich incredible gameplay features, new tracks, extensive cars and more.

In a statement, Slightly Mad's head of studio Ian Bell revealed that the game was "99.9%" complete and this delay was to remove tricky bugs and other issues.

"There's a high expectancy from racing fans around the world that Project CARS is going to be an exciting new contender in the simulation racing space and we firmly believe gamers deserve it to be in its most complete and polished state when they come to play it on day one," Bell explained. To make up for the delay, Slightly Mad Studio awards players with additional free day-one content.

The gameplay showcased some superb weather effects where rain droplets scatter all over the screen and on the track plus there will be a day/night system to be included in this all-new simulation racing sim.

Project CARS release is expected to feature up to 30 cars simultaneously on the track all at the same time. In addition, four new environments are added and the new tracks include fan-favourite Spa Francochamps, Sonoma Raceway and Brno in the Czech Republic.

Several new trailers and gameplay videos have been launched including a track environment-focused video as well as an in-depth guide to how the pit lane works, Expert Reviews reported.

The first gameplay footage from the Xbox One version of Project CARS has also been released courtesy of OutsideXbox which provides a glimpse of what the game looks like on current gen console.

Meanwhile, players who pre-order the game will be granted access to five exclusive cars, the McLaren F1 road car, Sauber C9 Le Mans prototype, BMW M1 ProCar, Mercedes-AMG C-Class Coupe DTM car and 1967 Ford Mk IV endurance racing car.

The Steam pre-order Modified Car Pack edition features a different set of bonus content: The Ruf CTR3 SMS-R, Pagani Zonda Cinque Roadster and Ariel Atom 3 Mugen. The Pre-order version of the game can be found on Steam for PC and from various UK retailers including Argos and Zavvi for PS4, Xbox One and Wii U.

Project Cars Mid-May release date is slated for PC, Xbox One and PS4 versions while the Wii U launch window remains unannounced.
