Looking Spoilers: Season 3 Cancellation to Happen?

By

HBO's Looking won't get the season 3 renewal many of its fans were hoping for. As a form of consolation, the network has announced that the series will wrap up the rest of its storylines in the form of a TV special.

"After two years of following Patrick and his tight-knit group of friends as they explored San Francisco in search of love and lasting relationships, HBO will present the final chapter of their journey as a special," HBO said in an official statement. "We look forward to sharing this adventure with the shows loyal fans."

The comedy was never a strong performer in the ratings. However, executive producers renewed Looking for a second season due to the positive response the show was attracting. The series generated a growing fanbase and even earned its spot in social media.

The series started off slow, garnering only 308,000 viewers during its freshman episode. The series hit an all-time high with 519,000 during its sixth week. However, the series took a nose dive in its decline during Looking Season 2 with only 150,000 viewers during the first episode of the second season.

HBO has decided to put the show to an end. The network plans to wrap up the series with a TV special. As of this writing, there is no word on when the TV special will be released.

Looking starred Jonathan Groff, Frankie J. Alvarez and Murray Bartlett, who are buddies in San Francisco. The comedy series explores the misadventures of the gay friends as they try to make it or break it in San Francisco. There have been online petitions made by fans, imploring to save the show.
