Imagine a phablet rocking a 6-inch Ultra HD display at 2160 x 3840 resolution, plus killer internal designs. Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is now reported to come out by September 2015 with such promising specs, just less than a year when its predecessor Galaxy Note 4 was launched.
Although details have fallen short for now, according to reports Galaxy Note 5 will be using a flexible display. With the Ultra HD display, Note 5 would have to sport a 700+ pixels per inch, way too impressive and pioneering.
As per South Korean website's report, the upcoming phablet has been reserved for the IFA 2015 event in Berlin, Germany which will kick off on September 4 and end by the 9th. While all details available for now have not been officially confirmed by the tech giant itself, analysts stress that Galaxy Note will take a cue from the recently launched Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge.
Samsung scored notable raves at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015 for their latest offering, most especially with the S6 Edge. Accordingly, this might translate to a better focus on design and software for Note 5.
Previously, Samsung executive vice president of product strategy Roh Tae-moon told journalists at a press event during the MWC 2015 that Samsung could possibly incorporate the curved display and dual-edge screens for the Note line. Galaxy S6 has curved display while Galaxy S6 Edge has side screens.
As predicted, Samsung will have to take full advantage of the impressive dual-edge display for its next mobile devices to somehow take over a higher control in the tech market dominated by strong rival Apple.
Metal and glass chassis, non-removable battery and a missing microSD card slot might also hit the device, depending on how fans will receive it in S6 and S6 Edge. Some features have also been ditched to improve system performance, which most likely will happen to Note 5.
Other rumored features include improved fingerprint sensor, new TouchWiz, more storage capacity and camera upgrades.
Samsung is also expected to cut ties with own Exynos 7 octa-core processors to take advantage of Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 chip. However, Qualcomm is still on the verge of winning back Samsung electronics as per reports.
