Fans of the old NES console and even those who just love a little bit of nostalgia with their gaming will be happy to know that the "DuckTales" of their childhood is on its way back. In a recent photo released by Disney Interactive, what certainly looks like the old "DuckTales" game is shown being played on an iPhone.
"DuckTales: Remastered" was originally released back in 2013, according to Touch Arcade.
The platforming game featured some of the more beloved characters from the old Disney cartoons. It had the incredibly-wealthy and often ridiculous Scrooge McDuck as well as his three nephews named Huey, Dewey, and Louie.
Aside from the four lead characters, players were also joined by a cast of other Disney favorites both showing up as friends and lending a hand in the journey, or as enemies and plotting to take the heroes down. Capcom and WayForward collaborated on the remake of the game, and it was then released for both consoles and the PC.
The 2013 version of the game was launched to mostly positive reviews, with critics lauding the title for staying true to its visual roots yet managing to update the cartoon aesthetic enough to make it seem at home on the new consoles. The game also drew acclaim for sticking to its original gameplay mechanics and also employing a terrific cast to fill in for all the character voices.
"DuckTales: Remastered" would not be the first title from the franchise to make it to the iPhone.
Back in 2013, "DuckTales: Scrooge's Loot" was released for both the iPhone and Android devices. The game received rave reviews when it was launched, according to Pocket Gamer.
The original "DuckTales" game was released back in 1989.
Disney has not yet confirmed any formal release date for the game, according to Digital Spy.
