Latest reports in Apple devices suggest that the upcoming iPhone handset will be sporting a smaller 4-inch display, plus two more variants in the line coming up this year.
Industry sources said iPhone 6c will bring back iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c's small frame legacy for Apple's next smartphone release. iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c are the last smartphones to have 4-inch displays. Both were simultaneously released in 2013.
A report from DigiTimes suggests that the 2015 iPhone lineup is consist of the "s" and "c" designation which will bring innovative changes like processor speed bumps.
As an entry-level device, the 6c is reported to be powered by the A8 system-on-chip silicon. It will also get NFC, Touch ID fingerprint sensor and Gorilla Glass display with low temperature polysilicon panels. According to the same report, iPhone 6c will be provided by partner suppliers Japan Display and LG while Wistron will manufacture the device.
The 4-inch iPhone 6c was first predicted by analyst Timothy Arcuri. According to his analysis, the "device may come with purpose-built components to alleviate manufacturing costs.
The budget iPhone though is not to be merited to be a low-end device since it would still feature key specs that run the other iPhone devices. According to a report, iPhone 6c is for those who want to keep with Apple devices that will not cost them too much.
According to Motley Fool, iPhone 6c "could potentially help Apple in cost-sensitive developing markets... and upgrade cycle in the U.S where many carriers are looking to wean users off of device subsidies."
Meanwhile, iPhone 6s was also reported to sport 4-inch display. However, experts has first belied the prediction as Apple needs smarter move to go against Samsung. Samsung has just revealed Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge-Samsung devices that wear killer specs and first time innovations for the firm.
Other features of the device are a carrier-agnostic SIM card, beefed up RAM storage, three-sensor camera, and the Force Touch technology.
