Legend of Zelda Wii U No Show At E3 2015 as Release Delayed to 2016

By

Fans of the Legend of Zelda series will be disappointed as the Wii U release is delayed to 2016. What's worse is that a sneak peak of the new Zelda game will not even graze the hallowed E3 2015 grounds this coming June.

Eiji Aonuma said in a video announcement that the Legend of Zelda for the Wii U will not be released this year but well into 2016. This regrettable news forced the series producer to publicly send out a video of apology for promising fans a new Zelda game release this year. Though the exact reason for the delay was not specifically stated, Aonuma said that the developing team found '...several new possibilities for the game,' that are significant enough to justify a year long delay. This 'new possibilities' reason can also be interpreted as a vague reference to discovering better solutions to existing problems.

Nevertheless, Aonuma didn't end the bad news there, he continued that previews of the game will not be shown at the E3 2015 convention this coming June. He said on the video announcement that '(they), aren't planning on showing it at this year's E3."

The Legend of Zelda is one of Nintendo's mainstay titles. It was first released in 1986 in Nintendo's Famicom system. Since then it became a part of gaming history as one of the earliest pioneers of the fantasy-RPG genre.

It can be remembered that Aonuma promised Nintendo fans last year that the new Legend of Zelda for the Wii U will be a 2015 release. It is a real disappointment for fans, especially for Wii U users who are really hoping to get their hands on another Zelda game. It can also be speculated that the delay is a way to have this new Zelda instalment release coincide with its 30th anniversary. However, Aonuma again promises fans that the delay will give time for them to make 'the most complete and ultimate Zelda game.'
