LG G4 Release Round Up: Curved body, fingerprint scanner, Android 5.1 OS, and other killer specs

Since Thursday, images have been going around the internet that allegedly reveal the LG G4 or LG G4 Note. However, Phone Arena cited XDA Developer users who gave close inspection of the alleged LG/LG G4 Note have noticed that the baseband version (MPSS.DPM.2.0.c11-00010-M8936FAAAANUZM-1) of the phone can't basically belong to the carrier phone.

In the image, the baseband version reportedly shows that the phone is running on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 610 processor and this kind of processor is a mid-range, quad-core chip with Adreno 405 graphics. The chip is also known as MSM8936. Based on the inspection, it is more likely that the image shows an upcoming LG G4 s, which is modeled after the LG G3 s.

According to rumors cited by International Business Times AU, the LG G4 could possibly come out with a 5.6-inch display enhanced by 1440 x 2560 pixels, a 16 MP or a 20 MP camera unit that has an Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) support. Inside, it could have a 3 GB RAM (instead of the assumed 4 GB RAM), 32 GB storage capacity, and could be powered by a 64-bit, octa-core (Snapdragon 810) SoC.

However, reports cited by SlashGear mentioned that the LG G4 will have a six-core SoC (clocked at 1.8GHz) and a Snapdragon 808 that features a quad-core Cortex-A53 CPU and dual-core Cortex A-57. On top of that, the device will come out with a 2.8 GB memory, a 23 GB storage, and an Android 5.1 OS.

The handset is also rumored to have a new payment system similar to Apple Pay and Samsung Pay as well as a fingerprint scanner, the same again with Apple and Samsung devices. BREATHEcast cited sources in South Korea that reportedly said that the LG G4 will be built with a curved display, the same with the LG G Flex 2.

Its release has yet to be officially announced by LG but speculations stated that it could be released in the Q2 2015.
