Stunning scenery and heart-pumping action are but some of the things in store for viewers of Spectre, the James Bond flick slated for release in November 2015.
Filmed in Europe as well as in other parts of the world, including Mexico City and Morocco, Spectre's opening scenes depict James Bond running across a snowy mountaintop tackling henchmen. He will also be shown in a cameo scene amidst a restaged Day of the Dead celebration in Mexico. Filming in key locations was stalled by natural elements like the wintry weather and rainfall, but these were temporary setbacks, and the footages that were completed came out great.
Daniel Craig is reprising his role as England's cunning spy. This year's James Bond flick is Craig's fourth outing. The 24th James Bond flick has brought in the shadowy organization S.P.E.C.T.R.E. that was introduced by author Ian Fleming and was featured in earlier Bond films.
Spectre's director and production designer opted to use awesome scenery as backdrop. Filming in places like Austria has added to the element of thrill as well as visual delight. Drawing movie watchers -- to witness how Bond undertakes his new mission and embarks on adventures while battling nefarious elements - had been a breeze for previous James Bond flicks.
Production designer Dennis Gassner looked for really spectacular locations for the action scenes to unfold. Solden, Austria's mountainous region was among the prime spots selected. Also chosen as ideal location for the unfolding action in Spectre was Mexico City.
To film parts of the movie in the historic city, some roads had to be closed. The film will give a short glimpse of Mexico's Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebration. For the filming in Mexico, Spectre's production team brought in hundreds of extras and specialists to handle the costumes, masks, make-up and other essentials. The country's cultural values were given careful consideration, so massive planning and preparations were made, even if only a few minutes of footage has been incorporated into the movie. "Skyfall" director Sam Mendes directs the upcoming flick.
