The highly anticipated, sci-fi, open-space game, No Man's Sky is expected to be released this year, but not on the Xbox. The said game will first be released on the PS4 and PC said Xbox director, Chris Charla in a podcast interview reported by Gamingbolt.
Charla said that though they 'want to see it (game) on the Xbox one,' it is a developer decision whether to release the game first on the Xbox. The decision became more complicated as Xbox one issued its Parity clause.
The clause simply states that developers planning to release their games first on the Xbox One will become exclusives. Though releasing it first on other platforms before porting to Xbox is okay, it should have some exclusive content added to make the Xbox One version unique in a sense. Though Hello games didn't specify that the clause was the main reason for the planned PS4 and PC release, it is surely one of the deciding factors.
The clause further fuelled the console war between Sony and Microsoft. However, with hard hitting releases this March, especially with Bloodborne, the balance is slowly tipping towards the PS4. However, Charla said that Xbox will have game titles released in E3 2015, though he refrained from revealing details.
No Man's Sky is an ambitious project created by Hello Games, a British indie game developing company. The game is a sci-fi, free roam adventure that allows gamers to explore an expansive universe. The game brags its feature of having a procedural system of generating stars, planets, each with unique flora and fauna every time a player starts a game. This means that every gamer would have a different No Man's Sky universe making it exceptionally impressive.
No Man's Sky was first announced way back in 2013, but due to problems, the game stalled. However, Hello games are again churning the works and it geared for a 2015 release for the Playstation 4 and the PC.
