Despite "Bloodborne" being released just a little over a week ago, some intrepid gamers have already finished the game, and one truly ingenious soul even managed to finish the game in the astonishing time of 44 minutes.
The news is not too surprising, considering how players have a habit of poking and prodding at every nook and corner of their favorite games just to find some sort of hidden advantage, but the record time posted by a player identifying himself as Oginam is still remarkable.
The actual game time it took to finish "Bloodborne" was 40 minutes and 17 seconds, but it comes out to 44 minutes in real time, according to Gamespot. Gamers can take heart in the fact that the reason for the extremely short game time is not because "Bloodborne" offers little in the way of content, but because, as always, there are glitches and exploits just waiting to be used, according to Polygon.
One of the main glitches utilized to help facilitate the incredibly speedy run is a duplication glitch making use of a second character's stash inventory. Having additional items to make it through the game's hardest spots are always nice to have, but this is only half of the equation.
The other glitch which was also instrumental to the speed run was the one which allowed him to basically enter into the game's final third without actually going through the earlier parts of it, according to Kotaku.
He was able to locate the glitch by simply jumping through some obstacles in an early portion of the game and suddenly finding himself inside the "Forbidden Woods." The "Forbidden Woods" is an area of the game players should not encounter until much later on.
From there, he simply used his near endless stash of useful items to take down the game's tougher bosses even though he was still supposedly not ready to do so. According to Oginam, he can still post a faster time than the current record.
