Final Fantasy XV Release Date: New female character joins party? Square Enix confirms additional female guest changes game behaviour

By

Recently, there was a bit discussion whether it would be okay for the fans to add additional female playable character in the gameplay or not. However, Square Enix revealed that the blond-haired woman from the trailers would be new character, yet her presence will just be temporary.

It's clearly observed that most of the Final Fantasy's characters are male. Though there are some female playable characters added, too, however majority of the party are still dominated by the said gender.

Perhaps, the game developer thought that it would be sort of experiment if the avid gamers would like it if they will include this blonde-haired gal in the upcoming action role-playing video game.

Hajime Tabata, Final Fantasy XV director said in an interview that having a female character in the gameplay invites a more approachable gaming and at the same time attempts to change the on-going behaviours of the 4-male protagonists.

He said, "Even the presence of one female in the group will change their behaviour, so that they'll act differently. So to give the most natural feeling, to make them feel sincere and honest, having them all the same gender made sense in that way."

Yet, this decision might be changed later on. But still most of the players, even the avid FF players in Japan, seemed to appeal the all-make gaming than having a female playable character or just mere female guest, either of both.

Another downside identified if there would be female character in the gameplay, she might be a tool for b**ching and moaning around men, creating such annoyance. Female players didn't like it that much if she will appear in the game.

One of the female fan gave her comprehensive comments in a website saying that she'd rather have an all-male Final Fantasy gameplay with a realistic people [perhaps, she meant the graphics and a bit psychology], than having a b**chy woman around, by saying,

"They're [possible female characters] just going to get the other side of the camp b**ching and moaning that she isn't a true representation of a what a real woman is like, that she fits the typical damsel trope, that she's just there to be objectified, used for eye-candy, or that she's an temporary accessory and nothing more, and then cry gender-inequality *grumbles*"

She added that if they are added in the gameplay, she might be judged more harshly than the other male characters in Final Fantasy game series.

"For some reason, female characters seemed to be more judged more harshly than male characters for not upholding some perfect image or possess traits people require them to have. It's annoying."

Others view it as "no changes to happen in the gameplay" if Square Enix will surely add the female character or not. Thus, these fans have quite divided views on this issue.

Though it was still rumoured to have it in the game for real, yet, Square Enix recently tweeted to have a voice actor for a certain female character. Maybe, she's one of those who can confirm the inclusion of another female character in the upcoming Final Fantasy XV.

Peyton McCormick will be voicing Rem Tokimiya, one of the characters in Type-0. But, there might be some possibility that she'll be doing the same for this upcoming female character for the Final Fantasy XV game series.
