Common Android 5.0 Lollipop Problems for Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Note 3, S5, S4 And How to Fix Them

By

Android 5.0 Lollipop has been plagued with bug issues that Google still has to address. Common problems include battery drain, Wi-Fi connectivity, Bluetooth among others.

For Samsung device owners, here's a simple guide of potential fixes to solving issues with Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy S5, and Galaxy S4.

For Galaxy Note 4 users, downloading the Android 5.0 Lollipop update itself is a problem. Note 4 versions of Sprint, AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile and U.S. Cellular may experience failure to complete the download. To solve this, install the update over a Wi-Fi connection instead of just a data connection. Make sure the battery is charged up to 50 percent and has enough storage. If it still does not work, try rebooting the device and recharge it until 100 percent.

Battery drain is also common among Galaxy phones. Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note3, Galaxy S5, and Galaxy S4 face the biggest problem. The root cause of this problem points to third-party apps. To solve this, try manually uninstalling each app to identify potential culprits although it is kind of a chore. If it does not work, boot the device to Safe Mode. Turn off the device > Long press the power button and volume down key > let go of the two buttons until seeing Safe Mode. By doing this, all third-party apps will be disabled. For Galaxy Note, try also disabling Bluetooth and NFC, or get away with live wallpapers.

Wi-Fi connection can also be a major problem for Galaxy devices, like range for slow connections to lost connectivity when the device is in a strong signal area. To solve this, try rebooting the device. If it does not work, unplug the router for a good 30 seconds and put it back.

For Bluetooth problems, try turning the device on and off. If it does not work, head to Settings > Bluetooth > Forget Bluetooth Connections > Reconnect.

For overheating, restart the device. Leave it at that for a minute or so then reboot it back. If it doesn't work turn off the device > remove the battery and the microSD card. Put the battery back and see if it works.
