Apple recently released the iOS 8.3 beta update 4 which is meant to address some known issues and bring some new features, which could give a preview to what iOS 9 could be like.
The beta release targets developers and advanced users who are expected to develop their own apps or improve upon the existing iOS by reporting bugs or fixes using the tools provided with the beta download such as the Xcode IDE and the Instruments Analysis Tool. Specific instructions and release notes information could be found here.
The iOS 8.3 Beta Update 4 mainly addresses the issues for emoji. While the fix resolves seemingly minor issues (such as emojis having yellow tone that match gold hair), it now allows developers to separate the default emojis from the modified ones and to easily navigate between frequently used emojis with the "Recently Added" button.
Other fixes in the iOS 8.3 Beta 4 include those that address compaibility issues between Apple Pay and the China UnionPay, support for CarPlay, and support for Google's two-step verification system. Issues with the Safari browser (such as third-party keyboard compatibility and the browser suddenly becoming white when in landscape mode) have also reportedly been addressed.
As for new features, this fourth beta build from the California-based tech giant is able to separate messages from unsaved numbers (iMessage filter). Siri, Apple's proprietary virtual assistant, can now ask to initiate calls over the speakerphone or to skip passwords on download of free applications. Also, Siri now has additional languge support options for Danish, Dutch, English (for Indian users), Portugese, Russian, Swedish, Thai, and Turkish.
Testers can also expect a new option, the Password Settings, which provides additional security for their iTunes or Apple Store purchases. The iOS may ask for the password again if a second purchase is made after the first one is completed to prevent abuse.
iOS 8.3 release is expected to roll out this April with Apple Watch up.
