The ASUS Zenfone 2 U.S. and Europe release started to roll out of in France after its introduction at the recent CES 2015. ASUSTek, Taiwan confirmed the release via Twitter along with their corresponding prices.
The three ASUS Zenfone 2 models all differ in specs and performance. The cheapest of them all, which is the ZE500CL, comes with a dual-core Intel Atom Z2560 processor, 2GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, and a 5-inch 720p display. A microSD storage expansion is also available if the internal storage don’t make much of a cut. Furthermore, the Zenfone 2 ZE500CL sports an 8-megapixel camera, and is powered with a 2,500mAh battery. All these features go at the cost of US$193 (€179).
The Zenfone 2 ZE550ML is a slightly bigger variant. It sports a 5.5-inch display with the same 720p quality. It’s equipped with a quad-core Atom ZE550ML CPU, 2GB of RAM, as well as 16GB of storage (expandable via microSD card). It also has dual-SIM card slots, and a 13-megapixel camera. Of course, bigger features means that the ZE550ML will be powered by a 3,000mAh battery. This midrange offer is priced at US$268 (€249).
For advanced and power users, ASUS also designed the high-end ZE550ML to take on multiple and heavy tasks. This variant also has the same 5.5” display, but supports full 1080p resolution instead of 720p. Under the hood, the ZE550ML runs on a quad-core Atom Z3580, paired with 4GB of memory and 32GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD card). Other features include a 13-megapixel camera with dual-LED flash, and a 3,000mAh battery. Since it’s heavy on features, the price is also reasonable on this Zenfone 2 model. US$323 (€299).
All three Zenfone 2 variants will run the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system, along with some of ASUS’s own apps.
The ASUS Zenfone 2 U.S. and Europe release will continue to roll out to the rest of Europe, while it is scheduled to arrive in the U.S. during the Spring. More of the details are available on its official website.
