Hopefully, it's just an April's Fools joke but not all things that happen on the first of April could be hoax. Apparently, Nvidia chose to move the release date of its GTX 980 Ti graphics card from the rumored June release all the way to September.

For people who've been waiting for the Ti version to come since January (Nvidia is known not to hold off on the Ti long after the main card is released), the additional wait might be excruciating.

While there has been no official word about the company's supposed June release for the GM-200 processor-powered, it was long speculated that Nvidia planned to compete against AMD's Radeon R9 390 series add-in-boards.

The graphic card's GM200 GPU with 3072 stream processors, 192 texture mapping units, 96 raster operations pipelines and 384-bit memory interface round up its specs. It will also have a 6GB of GDDR5 frame buffer.

With this card targeting high-end PC gamers, it is also speculated that the price tag will be anywhere between US$800 to $1,000.

Meanwhile, Asus officially released its flagship graphics card unit based on the GTX 980.

No one in the company was fooling around when they officially confirmed and lanched the Asus GTX 980 20th Anniversary Gold Edition, which has a clock speed of 1,317MHz base and 1,413MHz boost. It is said to be powered by a GM204 GPU, capable of working at a power rate of up to 350 watts.

The card is also said to be whine and buzz-free. For cooling, the Asus card has a Drict CU II heatsink with a 10mm heatpipe and a coupe of fans. For aesthetics, the rear I/O shield has a matte-black finishing while the inner plating has gold trims. Connections include a dual-link DVI, a HDMI 2.0, and three DisplayPort 1.2 connectors.

The Asus GTX 980 20th Anniversary Gold Edition priced at US$640 is now available in the market while Nvidia's GTX 980 Ti graphics card releases by September this year.
