The ultra-popular Nintendo fighting game, Super Smash Bros., is set to welcome two new characters into the fold, with more possibly on the way.
First of the two new characters is none other than Mewtwo from Nintendo's other major cash cow, Pokemon. Mewtwo was originally promised as a sort of reward for people who bought both the 3DS and Wii U versions of the game, but now his availability will be expanded, according to Cinema Blend.
Fans can now purchase Mewtwo for either the Wii U or 3DS for $3.99 or for both consoles for $4.99. For those who did buy both versions of "Super Smash Bros." in the hopes of nabbing Mewtwo, they can still download him for free as soon he becomes available, as long as they were able to register their titles prior to March 31.
Mewtwo will be available starting April 28. The second character set to join the "Super Smash Bros." roster is Lucas from "Mother 3." Lucas has actually made previous appearances in the "Smash Bros." series, but by then he was not fully acknowledged as a full character and instead looked more like a simple alternate color for other some characters.
Lucas will be available in June. Aside from the two confirmed additions, Nintendo is also currently conducting a poll to learn which characters fans want to be added to the "Super Smash Bros." roster, according to Forbes.
Nintendo has made no promises to add the character who may receive the most votes, but they have said that they will consider all the nominations. New downloadable costumes for Mii fighters are also going to be made available in the new 1.06 update for the game, according to Gamespot.
Players can choose to suit up as X from the Mega Man franchise or even as Link from the Legend of Zelda franchise, along with numerous other options. Each costume will be sold for $0.75.
