Debunking rumours, God of War 4 will not happen this year, as the recent reports mentioned that it would likely arrive sometime 2017 or 2018. This news saddens fans as they have been waiting for the game sequel to arrive in their screens.
Reportedly, Santa Monica Studios announced that the game will not arrive this year. Though there were no clear reports declared by the game developers, yet there are possible reasons determined based from the outlined reports online.
First, the game developer will still have to reboot some details and mechanics of the game to prevent bug issues. Second, they might have decided the final protagonist of the game whether Kratos or Nathan Drake, since there are reports that it might be that the latter will be replaced by the former. The reason was, Nathan Drake doesn't create that much appeal to the 4th series of God of War compared to Kratos.
Third probable reason to think about is, perhaps, Santa Monica is still busy with the remastered edition to arrive in a few months, just a month after E3 2015. Next reason might be that the entire gameplay as a whole still remained unpolished.
Story writer Cory Barlog cited in his blog, "Imagine if a game like that [God of War 3] came out on PS4, right? Well, thanks to the fine folks at SCE (or Santa Monica Studio) we do not have to imagine anymore because God of War III Remastered is here!"
That supports to the fourth reason to consider why the 4th sequel might be moved again, not just next year, but by the next two years or more. Surely, this will sadden fans that much.
Yet, while waiting for it, they may opt to enjoy the remastered edition first since it will come this year in July. Just a few months to wait before the PS4 Remastered will hit screens.
With that, he said, "Remasters often help us open the door to new players who perhaps did not play 'God of War 3' five years ago, but who we can bring it to on the PlayStation 4 ... People often forget, the more players we can bring into a franchise, the better for everyone. At Santa Monica Studio, we'd like as many PlayStation fans to experience our games as possible, from generation to generation."
Furthermore, with the remastered edition, what the players could expect is its stunning 1080/30fps HD resolution to show plus its DLC - costumes, from the previous gameplays to add with the release. Sadly, the game was rated with mature content because of its sexual content, and more based from the game rating board.
To sum it all up, God of War 4 fans should keep updated.
