Ryan Reynolds is back again this week with his pompous "Merch With A Mouth" rendition. Photos from the "Deadpool" set showed the actor with facial make-up, which fans can presume is a post-Weapon X climate.
The still images were described by the entertaiment site Just Jared to be "a scene which involved a dirty alley behind a strip club in the wee hours of Thursday morning." Several main actors of the antihero film were also in the photographs which has its production underway in Vancouver, Canada.
Homeland's Morena Baccarin as Vanessa Carlysle/Copycat, Haywire's Gina Carano as Angel Dust and Ed Skein (The Transporter Refueled) in a role still to be announced. The main cast were all pretty normal looking in contrast to Reynold's titular character photos. The heavy amount of prosthetics which disfigured the 38-year-old actor face is one of the "origin" premises which the screenplay is said to follow. Deadpool born as Wade Wilson is a mercenary who submits to be a guinea pig for a clandestine government agency so he can be cured of his cancer.
Before they began their shoot in the northwest, Reynolds posted an image of him in full costume languidly lounging on top of a bearskin rug. The "Tweeted" post was mockingly jazzed up with the words "With great power, comes great irresponsibility". 20th Century Fox even furthered up the ante by having Reynolds, still wearing his "Deadpool" suit, kill television host and actor Mario Lopez in a video parody, an assertion that they are going for a "Rated" R rating.
The film which is the eighth installment in the X-Men film series is the directorial debut of visual effect veteran Tim Miller. The script is from Zombieland writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. T.J. Miller (HBO's Silicon Valley) will play Deadpool's best buddy and arms dealer "Weasel" while newcomer Brianna Hildebrand will play the telepath Negasonic Teenage Warhead.
Deadpool will hit North America on February 12, 2016.
