LG G4 has announced the release of a latest display that can respond to touch commands even with water drops on the screen. Meanwhile, recent reports seem to imply that Verizon is on the verge of receiving backlashes from Google Nexus 6 users as the company is said to have made disappointing moves. Many were reportedly turned down after learning that the US-based carrier is not going to "officially activate any Nexus 6 devices purchased outside their stores."
When Verizon launched the Nexus 6, many were quite unhappy about the company's decisions in putting its logo on the device as well as adding in some bloatware. Now that they are going to reject Nexus 6 devices from external sources, many are taking it as a terrible thing since this move pushes tech enthusiasts to create a contract with them in order to get a good price. More than that, the company has reportedly not added the IMEI numbers for the Nexus 6 yet. This means that the device will be shown as a "Non-VZW Device". Further, this would also mean that any Verizon representative will be unable to change your plan, or even replace your SIM card. Indeed, these make things very tedious for tech enthusiasts.
It is not a big wonder why many see this as a terrible move on Verizon's part. Plus, it has reportedly caused plenty of outrage in the tech industry. Many are also waiting for an official statement from Verizon as well as reasonable explanations for their decisions. Others recommend that Verizon, at least, add IMEI numbers to their system.
Now for those who are looking for Nexus 9 deals, Best Buy is reportedly offering $75 off for the tablet. The deal brings the price down to $325 for the 16 GB model, and $405 for the 32 GB model, Indigo black or Lunar white. The tablet still managed to have a 4-star rating in both sites despite that many were turned off by some of its shortcomings,
Meanwhile, LG is said to blow the Galaxy S6 out of the water once the company releases its carrier G4 device at the end of April.
On Friday, LG Display announced the launching of its 5.5-inch QHD (Quantum High Definition) LCD panel for smartphones. The company claims that the latest LCD "represents a quantum jump in terms of key features, including color gamut, brightness, contrast ratio, touch function, power consumption and thinness."
According to LG Display Newsroom, "The display provides richer and more accurate colors with a 120 percent color gamut, exceeding the 100 percent gamut offered on conventional panels, for mobile devices (based on sRGB). The QHD display has 1,440 x 2,560 resolution, four times higher than HD resolution (720 x 1,280), and the number of pixels per inch is 538 PPI (Pixels Per Inch) on the 5.5-inch panel size."
The latest panel has also included Advanced In-Cell Touch (AIT) technology. This technology can respond to touch commands even with water drops on the screen. Besides the AIT technology, LG Display also used other two leading technologies for the new display: high color gamut LED and photo-alignment.
Vice President of the IT/Mobile Development Group at LG Display, Mr. Byeong-Koo Kim, said: "The company has maximized the essential display functions for mobile devices from touch to color gamut by using the latest technology and accumulated expertise. LG Display will continue to develop products that can offer the best user experience not only for smartphones, but also for tablets and notebook PCs."
