Sprint and AT&T has just started shipping pre-orders of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge today after it they were announced two days ago via Twitter.
The U.S. mobile carriers are among the first partners of the Samsung to release its flagship devices before it will officially launch on April 10. T-Mobile is the first major U.S. carrier to announce pre-orders for Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge handsets last March 28. On the other hand, Verizon already announced pre-orders and will release devices on April 10.
According to a tech site, Sprint however will not be vending the galaxy S6 device in its retails stores until April 10, making its online shop the solo in trade for now.
Sprint and AT&T sell the 32GB Galaxy S6 for $199.99 on a regular two-year contract, while $648 for Sprint if without contract and $648.99 for AT&T if without contract. Sprint and AT&T's 32GB Galaxy S6 Edge costs $299.99 on a regular contract, while $814.99 for AT&T if without contract and $768 for Sprint if without contract.
T-Mobiles pegs its Galaxy S6 for $679.92 if without contract, while Galaxy S6 Edge for $779.76 if without contract. Verizon Wireless sells Galaxy S6 for $199.99 for a regular two-year contract and $599.99 if without contract. It Galaxy S6 Edge costs $299.99 for a regular two-year contract and $699.99 if without contract.
Meanwhile, an insider from AT&T revealed that a memo circulating around the carrier states that shipped AT&T models of Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge have issues while they were in transit. According to the memo, the boxes where the handsets were enclosed caused them to turn on during their shipping.
AT&T immediately responded to the issue. They found out that the devices' batteries had been totally drained as they turned on during the transit. Representatives from the carrier direct complaints by just recharging the handsets. Samsung first identified the problem.
Both Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge have 2560 x 1440 display resolution and is powered by 8-core Exynos 7420 processor. Both handsets also have 5.1' display and a 16MP rear camera. Galaxy S6 has 2550 mAh battery capacity while S6 Edge has 2600 mAh.
