Comic book creator Rob Liefeld is already comparing the movie "Deadpool" to "Ironman" and "Guardians of the Galaxy" saying the movie will firm up Deadpool's popularity in a global scale.
Liefeld told "Deadpool" fans through an interview with ComicBook to get ready for an experience like no other because "Deadpool" is set to challenge the new genre of superheroes. When asked if the the "Deadpool" movie will be faithful to its comic book origin, Liefeld advise "Deadpool" fans to "prepare for an experience that you haven't encountered yet. It's new template in the way that "Guardians of the Galaxy" established a new tone for the franchise "Deadpool" will do the same."
During the intervew Liefeld also expressed his satisfaction on the direction of the film. He also said that aside from "being brilliantly raucous, crazy, violent, and action packed," the "Deadpool" film has "tremendous heart and soul."
Reports also claimed that Liefeld thinks that actor Ryan Reynolds will own the character of Wade Wilson like what Robert Downey Jr. did in his performance as Tony Stark in the "Iron Man" and "Avengers" movies.
In the interview, he compared Ryan Reynolds anti-herocharacter to Robert Downey Jr.'s "Ironman." He said, "in the same manner that Robert Downey Jr. co-opted Tony Stark/Iron Man and now seems to 'own' him in that way that you can't imagine "Iron Man" without him, that's what will happen with Ryan Reynolds and Deadpool. The Tony Stark I grew up with wasn't as snappy and as quippy as Downey Jr. made him, but now I only think of his performance. That is what is going to happen here with Ryan and Deadpool. You can see it happening."
Meanwhile, Ryan Reynolds returns to his hometown in Vancouver while filming "Deadpool." Huffington Post reported that the production is shutting down the city's Georgia Viaduct for several days. The film, which is based on a Marvel Comics character, is forecasted to create 1,100 jobs and bring $37.5 million into Vancouver.
"Deadpool" is about how an experiment leaves former Special Forces agent Wade Wilson with accelerated healing powers. Dubbed as Marvel's most unconventional anti-hero, Deadpool is also armed with an unusual sense of humour.
"Deadpool" will hit theaters on February 12, 2016.
