'Deadpool' has started filming after a year of slow production progress. Ryan Reynolds and the team were seen in Vancouver, where the ongoing filming of the "X-Men" spin-off is taking place. Brianna Hildebrand joins the cast as "Negasonic Teenage Warhead", a Goth teen mutant who has telephatic powers.
Ryan Reynolds is back in his hometown to shoot "Deadpool" and is causing quite a buzz among the downtown commuters. In his Twitter account, Reynolds shared a photo of his encounter with a local showing his support to the actor by wearing a costume while in another photo, he is seen posing opposite a kid in a gym.
Described as a "hyper-meta, self-aware guy" by Reynolds, "Deadpool" can be considered as an anti-hero compared to other DC characters. This is probably the reason why production did not start right away. But the recently posted photos online are good indications that "Deadpool" will really hit the screens soon.
"Deadpool" will also be introducing Goth teen mutant named, "Negasonic Teenage Warhead," to be played by newcomer Brianna Hildebrand. Born as Ellie Phimister, she is a telepath like Charles Xavier and Emma Frost but with precognitive abilities. Introduced in the "X-Men" comics in 2001, many are still unfamiliar with her character since there is a ton of obscure mutants in the "X-Men" universe. She also didn't live long as she was killed during a Sentinel invasion. The movie might not follow her comic's story, though, since her background doesn't seem to fit the "Deadpool" storyline.
Ryan Reynolds also recently shattered the speculations about "Deadpool" being a PG-13 movie. In a series of tweets, the actor humorously reacted to the false news surfacing online and clarified that the movie will be Rated R.
