Outlander Returns: Claire And Jamie In A Steamy Sex Scene, More Politics And More Conflicts Await Fans

Adventure, History, Whippings, Time-travel, love and passion are back! Outlander is back after hiatus. Outlander returned on April 4 after its six-months break, and the midseason premiere, entitled The Reckoning, pressured Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) to talk about the policies of their relationship again, after Claire decided to come back to Craigh na Dun without informing Jamie.

It led to her capture and she got almost raped by Black Jack Randall (Tobias Menzies). Although, the Highlanders and Jamie handled to save her, with unloaded weapons, Claire's decision to put everyone at risk, and Jamie wasn't scared to make his wife aware of it. Leading in a subsequent spanking and explosive fight which threatened to totally destroy their romance.

During an interview with Variety, Balfe explained, "I don't think she realizes what she's done by putting all the men in danger and what the repercussions of that are going to be, obviously. But the fight that she and Jamie have... sometimes when you're scared or when you've been hurt, you don't know what to do with all of this emotion, so you just lash out." She further discussed: "And I think both of them are just giving it to each other and you really see them push each other's buttons, but it's coming from a place of fear. And it's like a parent whose like, 'Don't you ever do that again.' And it's incredible to watch them have this big thing, but then when he really shows her, 'it's because you scared me,' all of her defenses just melt and she's like, 'I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry.'"

Outlander tells the story of a married nurse during World War II in the 20th century. Claire Randall (Caitriona Balfe), mysteriously travels to Scotland, but in 18th century. Her husband Frank Randall, who plays a tormenter during the 18th century, lives in 1945 England. Claire was trapped in 1743 Scotland, where her life is continuously threatened and pressured to marry a hunky warrior Jamie Fraser, played by Sam Heughan. She was torn between to lovers, resulting to a very complex love triangle.

Fans will definitely witness more of the said characters, and it becomes less black and white. The politics are present with the brothers and in the castle. Jamie and Claire are really tested a lot of times. The issue of them being from time travels comes to a head and they both learn from the experience, but it's a difficult and long process.
