'Constantine' Season 2 cancellation may be pushed through, as fans' vote may be too little too late for the show to be renewed. If we also compare from the other contenders including 'Hart of Dixie' and 'Agent Carter' who are also waiting for the verdict and fans support, the demon hunter and occult master series fall short.
After its first season ended on February 13, 2015 after 13 episodes, 'Costantine' renewal still in the limbo. The network has yet to announce if there will be a season two, but it also says that the future of the series is about to be known by the end of April.
For those who don't know why the show is in danger of being cancelled, VCPost previously reported that 'Constantine' failed to "receive a full 22-episode season order" from the network in late 2014. The show also fared poorly in the ratings and this is despite the change in its time slot during the latter part of season one, as previously reported by Screen Rant.
Nevertheless, 'Constantine' executive producer Daniel Cerone announced that NBC will listen to a season 2 pitch for the comic book adaptation by the end of April. Via his Twitter account, Cerone informed fans that after that, the network will decide if it is going to be renewed or cancelled.
Back in February, when asked on Twitter whether the show could be considered as "technically cancelled," Cerone replied, "NBC made some early pickups but #Constantine not canceled. We'll pitch them our plans for 2nd season in May. Then they decide."
As of today, however, renewal of this beloved show may not be happening anymore if we based it from the other shows who also aim for the support from fans. In the poll made by the E! Online, 'Constantine' seemed struggling to be continued, as it ranks third. Based from the current standing of the poll, 'Agent Carter' ranked first garnering 45.5% votes, followed by 'Hart of Dixie' with 42.6%, while 'Constantine' places third with 6.2%. Bottom two includes 'Forever' with 3.9 and 'The Mindy Project' with the lowest 1.9%.
What do you think of the show's fate? Do you agree that cancellation could happen or do you still hope for 'Constantine' renewal?
