The Vampire Diaries Season 6 will return on April 16 and fans can't wait to know what may happen to Nina Dobrev's character especially that the actress has just confirmed she is leaving the show after the season. Dobrev meanwhile left a teaser on her Instagram account saying that things may happen unexpectedly.
Dobrev took to Instagram on Monday about her goodbye party with the cast and crew of The Vampire Diaries. She took the opportunity to thank her fans and promise them that more awaits her character as Elena Gilbert, the vampire and doppelganger.
"Fasten your seatbelts. If you think you know what's coming, you don't," she wrote.
WHAT FANS WANT
Meanwhile, although the series is expected to extend on its 7th season, a report says most fans want it to end on The Vampire Season 6. They felt sad that Elena had to leave them hanging this season. A lot of fans took to twitter their reaction to the sudden departure of Nina Dobrev from the show. Some even said that it will be the end for "The Vampire Diaries" since Elena plays an important role in the life of Damon Salvatore.
REASON FOR LEAVING
Still, the 26-year old actress invited her followers to join her and Elena as she faces the next chapter of her life. She mentioned on her Instagram that she has planned early on to do a 6-year stint with the CW TV series.
"I always knew I wanted Elena's story to be a six season adventure, and within those six years I got the journey of a lifetime," her post read.
A report said that Nina Dobrev had plans to travel the world and rest after working for six years. But apart from this reason, a personal reason that has something to do with an awkward relationship with his ex and co-star Ian Somerhalder is said to be behind her leaving. This report though has yet to be confirmed. Dobrev and Somerholder had been a couple for 3 years but broke up in 2013. Somerholder is engaged to actress Nikki Reed.
The Vampire Diaries Season 6 airs every Thursday at 8 p.m. on The CW network
