The mystery behind the stolen blood sample and embryo is coming to an end in Days of Our Lives as Melanie Jones bids farewell to the show and wraps up this part of the many controversies at Salem.
Soap gossip sources mention that Molly Burnett, the actress who plays Melanie Jonas filmed her last scenes in Days of Our Lives last December and are expected to be shown by the end of May. Moreover, the same source indicates that cast trimming is something expected for soap operas such as Days of Our Lives especially that it approaches its 50th anniversary. Also, Molly's period is initially set for six months. The cast trimming was strategically placed to make more rooms for the Days of Our Lives veterans more room and for writers to play with the plot fitting for the 50th anniversary celebration.
Now that Melanie's exist is confirmed, several speculations about how she leaves the show surfaces. One angle points that she will be kidnapped, attacked and then killed in the course of investigating Kirsten's scheme. As Kristen becomes a mother (unfortunately through presumably illegal means) there can be no stopping her from protecting her child and keeping her acts in secrecy. Chances are, Kristen does all that she can to protect her baby otherwise, she and Brady ends up in a joint custody with the baby. With this new possibility introduced in the show, fans are eager to see if there will be new characters that can uncover this secret in the future. For if this secret is revealed early in the show, there is a huge possibility that Kristen is sure to return to Salem in no time.
Speaking of Brady, this week on Days of Our Lives highlights Theresa's obvious feelings for Brady and many speculates that since Melanie is leaving Salem (or the show), she steps aside and allows Brady to figure out his feelings for Theresa as well. Nonetheless, the Kirsten's return at Salem may still be a threat to Brady and Theresa even if the two reunites.
