Sony is rumored to be developing two new devices: the Xperia Z4 Ultra, and the Xperia C4. The Z4 Ultra is rumored to come out with a 6-inch size display, and will be powered by Qaulcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC. On the other hand, the Xperia C4 came out in white color, and a lot less bezel at the bottom.
The report was cited by GSMArena.com. The rumored device, if released, shall be the successor of Xperia Z Ultra, which was released in 2013. Xperia Z4 Ultra is also rumored to come out with a display size of around 6 inches. Further, the Xperia Z4 Ultra will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC.
Meanwhile, Sony is reportedly aiming to ship 38 million smartphones in the 2015 fiscal year, which is said to be slightly lower from the 39.2 million units shipped in the previous year. DigiTimes cited sources that the lowered target shipment came due to the company's current overhaul on its phone business. Sony is also said to have changed its course, and that they are aiming to the mid-range to high-end segment.
Taiwanese original design manufacturers (ODM) have allegedly started delivering some new models to Sony recently, which includes Xperia E4 from Arima Communications, Xperia E4g from Compal Electronics, and Xperia M4 Aqua from Foxconn/FIH Mobile.
In addition to this, the sources reportedly mentioned that these ODMs have also started developing a 6-inch large-size smarphones for Sony mobile.
There are speculations that what the ODMs are developing could be the rumored Xperia Z4 Ultra.
However, Phone Arena recalled Sony's previous release last Q1 2014. During that time, the company released the mid-range Sony Xperia T2 Ultra, which is 6-inch in display size. July 2013 also saw the launching of Sony Xperia Z Ultra, which is 6.4-inch in display size. Phone Arena, therefore, stated that it was still hard to tell if the 6-inch large-size smartphone is drawn from the T2 Ultra or the Z Ultra.
Besides the rumored Xperia Z4 Ultra, there are other reports that Sony is also developing Xperia C4. A leaked image was spotted via Techtree.com. It showed a white model with "a lot less bezel at the bottom."
