Will Saul Goodman finally break into the second season of "Better Call Saul"? This might be the ultimate question inside the heads of the "Breaking Bad" spin-off fans. And if yes, how will his birth happen? Will Breaking Bad star Aaron Paul make a cameo appearance as Jesse Pinkman?
There are a lot of possible plots for the "Better Call Saul" Season 2 but on top of it all is the birth of Saul Goodman. In the season one finale, we saw Jimmy McGill drove off instead of going home to Albaquerque to meet the corporate law firm that is interested in hiring him. This could imply that McGill has finally decided to live a defiant lifestyle, one that could create a strain between his relationship with his brother Chuck, who constantly reminded him this season that Jimmy cannot change.
"Better Call Saul" co-creator Peter Gould, however, said that even him "doesn't want to assume anything" about what storyline the show will follow. He admitted that during a brainstorming session, he and co-creator Vince Gilligan thought that Saul Goodman will already appear before the first season ends. But that plan did not pan out since they thought that Jimmy McGill is more than just a character that will give birth to Saul. He hinted that subplots for the next season could still spring out from Jimmy and Chuck's relationship.
Other speculations include the possible appearance of Aaron Paul's character, Jesse Pinkman, in the next season. The "Breaking Bad" alum previously expressed his willingness to do a cameo in the show. However, other Saul fans claim that the Jimmy McGill in season one still has a long way to go before he becomes Saul Goodman (and the creators seem to think the same too). So it looks like fans should hold their horses and not jump into conclusions as early as now.
"Better Call Saul" creators and writers still have a lot of time to contemplate about the arcs of season 2. All the fans can do for now is wait and see if the makers decide to introduce Saul Goodman to us by next season or if there will be a Goodman-Pinkman reunion.
