A new Android Lollipop Version 5.1.1 is expected to come out a few days from now as spotted on the Android SDK Manager. It was believed to deliver bug fixes that has been existing since the release of Android 5.0. Apparently, the previous updates that came between the to said versions failed to eliminate the issue with regards to memory leak.
The reported bug involves the app's inexplicably high RAM usage, or what's referred to as "Memory Leak", which also includes the the operating system itself. One member from the Google project development team was able to determine and confirm the bug. However, it was not before the release of the of Android Lollipop update 5.0.1.
The bug has been tagged to be fixed on future release that is version 5.1. Besides the bug fix, the said Android version had brought extra advantages like multiple SIM card support, Device Protection as well as HD voice on selected mobile devices. Unfortunately, while it came with cool new features, Android 5.1 still failed to completely eliminate the problem.
As a result, the development team went back to the drawing board in order to find a new and better solution to the issue. However, each of the attempts is somewhat a risk since there is a always a tendency that a fix can cause an imbalance to the program. This creates a new bug, which the developers would have to try to work on again. This explains the reason why Google sometimes fail to address some of the bugs.
Then again, the appearance of Android Lollipop Version 5.1.1 on SDK Manager could mean that it will officially roll out on various Android devices. If it is so, then it is expected to carry out better fixes along with a few enhancements to the Android Lollipop OS.
However, Google still has to make an official announcement regarding the release of Android Lollipop Version 5.1.1 before it could be rolled out to supported devices.
