Red Dead Redemption 2 Update: Trio character set-up, new gang system, and other major details leaked

By

The latest leak on Red Dead Redemption 2 release date as well as features such as trio character set-up and the inclusion of a new gang system was reportedly tipped by one claiming to be a former Rockstar employee and audio engineer.

The said person posted on a Reddit thread about the game features and character setup of the game. The person claimed to have done so to get back at his/her boss.

Although the credibility of the post remains vague, players are hyped about the leaked information. The upcoming game will reportedly be named as Red Dead: Legends of the West, a likely allusion to the criminal cowboy lead of the game, the famed John Marston. The game is a prequel to Red Dead Redemption and will feature three playable characters.

The previous supporting chacters, Irish and Seth, will become playable characters. The game will also include a playable character that the gamers can customize and design accordingly.

"There will be many new and more thought out stranger missions as well as roughly thirty campaign missions for both Seth and Irish. The third character can be involved in the campaign, but can not be used in missions," the source said.

Aside from the innovative character setup, the game will reportedly also feature unlockable outfits and horses for the character trio. Players get to buy houses and customize it. The game is set before the events of the original Red Dead Redemption, and thereby the original lead, John Marston, still part of his gang. The trio will still encounter him though.

Another ingenious feature is of the upcoming game is the option of joining either side of the system, the law or those that break the law: "A big new part of the RDR prequel is the new gang system. You can join several different gangs, or if you think you are up for it you can join the law enforcement of certain towns, but this will restrict you on things you can do like robbing."

Rockstar Games had joined in the latest game remastering frenzy. Rumors abound that the game developers are planning on remastering the original Red Dead Redemption for PS4 and Xbox One.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is a Rockstar classic and players will be thrilled to experience improved graphics as well as the assortment of DLC available when the rumors prove to be true. Players are also keeping their fingers crossed for a PC version of the game.

As reported, Red Dead Redemption 2 release date on PS4 and Xbox One will be announced to the public at the E3 event this June.
