"Independence Day 2" will begin filming on May 5 in Albuquerque and the producers have sent out a casting call announcement for extras which includes senior citizens in the age group of 60 to 100.
According to the casting call announcement posted on the Facebook page of On Location Casting, senior citizens in Albuquerque who are interested are requested to send their pictures which includes a close up, taken from the waist/chest up, and a full body photo, from head to toe. Both male and female actors have been asked to apply
"Independence Day 2" also known as "Independence Day Forever" is the sequel to the box office hit movie with the same title which was released in 1996. According to CinemaBlend, "Independence Day Forever" will pick up 20 years after the events of the first film as a new wave of alien "reinforcements" arrive on earth in response to a distress signal sent up by the "first wave" of extraterrestrial visitors.
International Business Times reported that Jeff Goldblum and Bill Pullman will reprise their roles in"Independence Day Forever" as the scientist David Levinson and President Thomas J. Whitmore, respectively. The Independent, meanwhile claimed that Liam Hemsworth and Jessie Usher were also reported to be in the cast but their roles are not yet known. Will Smith who is filming "Suicide Squad" will not be in "Independence Day Forever."
The casting call announcement said that the producers have not decided on the call times yet and the applicants should be 100 percent available. "You must have open/flexible availability if submitting so that you can work whatever the call times end up being," the announcement states.
The extras will apparently be chosen by "Independence Day 2" film director Roland Emmerich. The producers are said to be looking for a "variety of interesting faces and types" for the upcoming movie.
