One of Scientology's leaders John Travolta does not care about the HBO docu Going Clear: Scientology and Prison of Disbelief. The star's faith does not change despite the docu depicting the alleged irregularities of the Church of Scientology.
TRAVOLTA'S DEFENSE
According to a report, Travolta is happy with being a Scientologist since the 70s which in fact changed his life especially his career. He said it even helped him cope up with the death of his son in 2009. His wife Kelly Preston is also a member of the organization. The controversial documentary which was an adaptation of the book by Lawrence Wright entitled Going Clear: Scientology, Hollywood and Prison of Disbelief, talked about Travolta and Tom Cruise, who are known to be firm believers of Scientology. It criticized the organization and how it treats its members who are mostly Hollywood celebrities. Although he did not watch the show which was aired last month, Travolta said people who were dissatisfied with the Church of Scientology was what pushed the attacks on the Church.
GOING CLEAR
The documentary portrayed Travolta as "a troubled young man looking for help." A source says it used a file video of the actor concentrating on a clear goal of "a world without criminality, a world without war and a world without insanity". In the film, it also showed that when the actor planned to leave Scientology, the officials blackmailed to expose all the secrets that he has revealed which was in a recorded form which stopped him from leaving.
Based on another source, Travolta said he has not experienced any of the alleged mental and physical abuses of the Church. This is despite reports that he was just being mum about it. The Church has also denied such claims.
So far John Travolta has no intentions of watching Going Clear: Scientology and Prison of Disbelief and maintains his loyalty on his church.
