Gambit of X-men bandwagon is confirmed to have his own solo movie this coming October 7, 2016. The Cajun accented womanizing guy with the power to manipulate potential and kinetic and can charge thrown cards into explosive weapons will be played by 2012 Sexist Man Alive Channing Tatum.
Spoilers have it that the actor will also appear in the coming movie' Xmen: Apocalypse' where he will still play as Gambit. The role was last played on screen by Taylor Kitsch in the 2009 X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
As per book and some television cameo appearances, he was labelled a waste of ink and deemed non-existent. Meanwhile, Gambit fans defended the character. They said Gambit deserves this solo movie. He was the guy who is equally interesting as wolverine is.
Gambit is a proud Louisiana native. His full name is the Remy Etieene LeBeau. He speaks with a distinctive drawl, something Alabama-born Channing Tatum should be able to pick up. Gambit is also a ladies man who is secretly quite taken by Rogue, who is played by Anna Paquin in the latest X-Men: Days of Future Past.
It was noted that in Gambit's character, it appears that he is a neutral character. He's either on the good side or the bad side. That makes Gambit story an anti-hero one.
On the other hand, some of the people think that Channing Tatum would be a bad pick for the role. He's a bad actor so they say. He's way more buff that Gambit who's lean.
Of course, with this coming out, Tatum's fans defended him and said that he's got that suave attitude and martial art skills that makes him perfect as Gambit as he is.
Channing Tatum quipped amidst these controversies, "I would do anything to be in those movies. I mean, I love the Marvel world and what they've created as a real brand and they've sort of changed the face of the industry. I would be in anything they put up, especially Gambit."
Gambit release date is slated to hit theatres worldwide on October 7, 2016.
