Wolverine 3 Release Date, Spoilers: Hugh Jackman confirms third film his last; Jim Mangold gets behind director's chair

Adamantium-clawed hero Wolverine will be crouching back again for his third self-titled movie, Wolverine 3. The setting of the story will not be featuring all the places you have seen in any Wolverine or X-men movies. There will be a lot of extraction from the hero's original adventure in its comic counterpart which will probably be taking those made in 80's.

Hugh Jackman has confirmed reprising his role as Logan for Wolverine 3. However, he confessed that this might be the last movie he will be doing as Wolverine. But it does not mean that Wolverine will be stopped appearing in some X-men movies where Logan is a key character.

It might just be that Jackman will not be doing any more solo Wolverine movies. He even said that he wanted to do a different approach to jive with the character.

He even said, "I don't know yet. We're talking it through. I still am very ambitious for the character. And totally I feel like we corrected the ship with the last one. But I feel we can still go further, in a way. If I did another one I'm 99.9% sure it would be the last, so that will inform what it is for me."

They are considering Old Man Logan which as it appears will be a channelling character. In other words, a supporting actor for a younger star to rise as new Wolverine.

Jackman further added, 'Well, of course we're looking at Old Man Logan, because that may be the only option left at this point! [laughs] We are looking at a lot of different storylines'.

Nevertheless, this might open possibilities also for Wolverine having children passing on his mutant abilities including the curse of immortality (regenerative healing power). However, this is just another angle of possibility.

Wolverine 3 is set to be released on March 3, 2017 with Jim Mangold helmed as director.
