iZombie’s Future Still Looks Bright

The zombie storyline has been done in so many ways that it's almost impossible to find a new movie or TV series taking a different route. iZombie though is one of the few to put a different spin on the whole zombie thing. The TV series loosely based on the comic book series of the same name premiered on March 17, 2015 getting mainly positive reviews from critics. The pilot episode of iZombie garnered more than 2 million viewers. Although the number of viewers has been declining week after week, the future still looks bright for the show.

iZombie revolves around the character of Liv portrayed by Rose McIver who also played the role of Ranger Yellow Summer Landsdown in the TV series Power Rangers: RPM. Liv used to be a medical resident until she was transformed into a zombie at a boat party. After being infected, she opted to quit her dream job and leave her fiance. She soon started working for the Seattle PD morgue.

Her boss knows the truth about her and is rather curious of her predicament to the point that he has promised to help find a cure. Another major character in the story is that of Clive Babinaux played by Malcolm Goodwin. Babinaux is a Seattle PD detective who was recently transferred to the homicide division. Liv and Clive works together to solve murders as Liv can see memories from eating the brains of the dead victims. Clive was made to think that Liv is a psychic which enables her to provide the information.

The TV series has been paired with series The Flash in hopes of getting good ratings. Last week, even without a new episode of The Flash to lead-in, iZombie got a similar number of viewers which is encouraging for its makers. This week, CW announced that iZombie will be getting 20 seconds from The Flash' time which could be a sign that a "rest of the season" trailer may be shown for the zombie series.
