Michael Jackson may have died six years ago, but his controversial child molestation issues apparently won't stop anytime soon. A recent report has revealed that Jackson's former prosecutor has turned over files about his previous investigation of child molestation charges against the late pop icon to Wade Robson, one of Jackson's latest accusers.
Santa Barbara Deputy Assistant District Attorney Ron Zonen, who previously investigated and prosecuted the King of Pop on sex abuse charges, has given key witness documents from Jackson's previous accusers to Robson's attorney, which could be used to aid Robson in his pending lawsuit against the Jackson estate, reported Radar Online.
In a sworn statement, Zonen declared that he has "knowledge of the investigation of childhood sexual abuse claims of Jordan Chandler (1993 accuser) as against Michael Jackson and was part of the SBDA trial team that investigated and criminally prosecuted Michael Jackson for sexual abuse claims brought by Gavin Arviso."
After being issued a subpoena from Robson's lawyer, Jackson's former prosecutor said "the voluminous documents produced in response included were witness statement of Blanca Francia (Jackson's maid) taken by SBSD on October 4, 1993 in connection with the criminal investigation" into Chandler's sex abuse claim, the publication stated.
The report comes in the wake of recent issues claiming the late pop legend had paid $200million in "hush money" to the alleged sex abuse victims. However, Attorney Howard Weitzman, who represents the Jackson estate, was quick to shoot down claims and called the recent reports "false."
"There is not a shred of evidence to support these ludicrous 'reports,'" Weitzman said in a statement released earlier this week. "It is unfortunate that, even in death, Michael cannot be free of these types of allegations, but we are confident that the truth will prevail in the end, just as it did in 2005 when a jury fully exonerated him," he added.
Aside from Wade Robson, another accuser, James Safechuck is pursuing a civil case against the Jackson estate. Both Robson and Safechuck have accused the King of Pop of having repeatedly sexually abused them in their childhood years, Inquisitr reported.
Jackson, who had never testified in court, had repeatedly denied the molestation charges against him.
