Grand Theft Auto V officially unlocks to PC gamers beginning today following consistent delays. Rockstar Games has confirmed recently the news and several high-end graphical options and its mechanism, including a killer 4K resolution.
A conversation of PC gamers and Rockstar Games led to the revelation of GTA 5's developer. In response to a query if the game on PC was locked at 60FPS, Rockstar said: "The target frame rate for the PC build of the game is 60FPS, when you start up GTA 5 for the first time it chooses settings to maximize the frame rate and visual quality on your PC."
However, this is just a recommendation, which means the frame rate is changeable depending on the preference of the player. As there are other PCs that cannot uphold a higher frame rate, other players always have the choice to go even on a higher level if PC permits.
One gamer asked if GTA 5 could support a 4k resolution on PC. Rockstar responded: "4k is an eye opener when you see if for the first time, it really does make you look at the world differently and in greater detail as you would expect." With this, players will be opened to a more varied options based on personal preferences.
To run GTA 5 at a 4K resolution at 30FPS, at least an AMD HD 7870 or NVidia GTX 760 with 2GB of VRAM is required. Meanwhile, to run a 4K resolution at 60FPS, a high-end SLI or Crossfire setup is required.
Rockstar said, ""The optimal way to run the game will depend on an individual's preference while others may appreciate a slower frame rate with the graphical settings dialed way up. Overall, with so many variables in various CPU/GPU configurations and depending on game settings, frame rates will vary widely."
The PC version of the game also comes with an impressive video editing tool.
