In a promo video for the upcoming episode of Grey's Anatomy, Season 11, Thursday on ABC, Alex (Justin Chambers) says "There's got to be some rule people who have been in a plane crash can't work on one," In the said episode, a plane crash took place in Seattle which causes a large number of casualties. The victims are taken to Seattle Grace Hospital, remembering the horrible memories for Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) and Meredith (Ellen Pompeo).
Meredith and Arizone were with Cristina (Sandra Oh), Lexie (Chyler Leigh), Mark (Eric Dane) and Derek (Patrick Dempsey) and some others from Seattle Grace were on a plane that crashed into the forest. Lexie and the other doctors suffered fatal injuries, who was pinned by a piece of a plane, and Mark killed by an internal damage.
Although, Meredith was not hurt, she saw how her sister died and the scene of her husband's hand caught in the wall of the plane. Arizona's leg was dreadfully damaged, leading the bone to break. Her leg had to be removed because of infection.
In episode 20, both women, Arizona and Meredith will be in a dark place, figuratively and literally, as they cover out in the supplies closet as the people wounded are being taken into the E.R., looking like they are in pain from PTSD, as they are not capable to help out.
Though for Meredith, she needs to deal with other things aside from the plane crash trauma. In the previous episode, she got a phone call from a person looking for Derek. He never went to his meeting in Washington. She has to deal with the probability that her husband is missing.
In the episode 20 of Grey's Anatomy, Bailey (Chandra Wilson) tells Meredith, "If at 5 p.m. you haven't heard from him, you can panic," The rundown for Episode 20 ends with Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) and Owen's (Kevin McKidd) split that will make an uncomfortable working dynamics for Stephanie (Jerrika Hinton).
