Reports are circulating that Empire isset to return with its season 2 as early as September 2015. Although, the premiere date is not yet finalized, however David Madden, Fox Entertainment president just told the Hollywood Reporter that it would not be a surprise if the series came back mid-season, rather make the fans wait for one year.
It is likely that the Fox series will come back with a 22-episode second season. The final episode of the 1st season of Empire broke the ratings records, as the two-hour episode was filled with action, big revelations, jaw dropping arrest and shocking death, therefore setting up the thrill in season 2.
Even as the 1st season concluded with Lucious Lyon in jail, the drama for the incoming season has just begun to establish. Even though, the Lyon is put in jail for killing Bunkie, he will make a grand return on the season 2 of the series.
Cookie and Jamal have been the only ones in the family who always support each other, although the events during the finale episode might have ruined their relationship forever. Jamal was distraught witnessing Cookie getting his father arrested and going against him.
The first season finale features guest stars like Rita Ora, Jennifer Hudson and Snoop Dogg. Updating the list, season 2 will have more celebrities for cameos on the series. Furthermore, producer Lee Daniels verified that he has included dream guest-stars like Oscar-winner rapper Common and Oprah Winfrey. Brian Grazer, TV producer also teased that he wants Eminem to be in the show.
Grazer explained , "Eminem, I know, loves our show. And I produced 8 Mile. I'm going to beg him to get on our show. He and Oprah Winfrey. Somehow I'm going to get one or both of them on our show."
