Microsoft has just introduced yet another addition to the Windows phone series, the Microsoft Lumia 540 Dual SIM 720p. The newcomer will favor consumers who just need a low-budget phone with all the subtle features that the tech giant has to offer.
The Lumia 540 measures .37 inch thick and weighs only 152g. It sports a 5-inch display that can render up to 1280x720 pixel resolution (720p). This allows contents to be readable despite its small screen size. It also has an 8MP rear camera with LED flash as well as a 5MP front-facing camera for capturing wide-angle selfies and groupies.
As for the under the hood specs, the Microsoft Lumia 540 Dual SIM 720p runs on a Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor clocked at 1.2GHz. It’s paired with 1GB of memory and 8GB of internal storage. Additional storage can be added up to 128GB via microSD. The entire device is powered by a 2200mAH removable battery. All these are enclosed in a plastic case, available in glossy cyan, white, orange, and matte black.
Another great feature of the Lumia 540 is the double-barrel SIM card slots that offer more network options for the consumers. This Smart Dual SIM feature to lets users make their unique SIM profiles and enables them to stay connected with call-forwarding.
Microsoft Lumia 540 Dual SIM 720p will be pre-installed with Windows Phone 8.1 with Lumia Denim Update. The device is also ready for Windows Phone 10 that will be released later this year. Users will also get 15GB of free cloud storage space form OneDrive with 15GB more once the “auto-upload” photo feature has been activated within the camera settings.
Microsoft Lumia 540 Dual SIM 720p will sell at $15 once it hits the store shelves in May. The first release will only be available in selected parts of the globe like the Middle East, the Asia Pacific, and Italy. Microsoft will be giving further updates on this new phone.
