Megadeth recently announced their campaign to involve fans in their journey to recording their 15th studio album. The Heavy Metal Band said that their 15th studio album will include Angra guitarist Kiko Loureiro as a permanent member of the 'Deth fold, while Lamb of God's Chris Adler sessions for the duration of the studio album recording.
Fans were shocked late last year when decade-long Megadeth drummer Shawn Drover quit the band, citing his pursuit of personal musical interests as his ball breaker. Shortly after, 7years Megadeth guitarist Chris Broderick also announced his retirement from the band, citing that he and Drover were on the same page.
Former 'Deth guitarist Marty Friedman admits that he was approached by David Mustaine and co. recently as in the past but cites that "there's just no reason for me to join Megadeth right now". Friedman continues:
"Just because there's a vacancy in the band doesn't mean that, 'Oh, now is my chance to join Megadeth.' There's absolutely no reason for me to do that. However, I'm very, very close friends with Mustaine and Ellefson, and the band in general, and I love them like brothers."
While there are many fans who are surprised with the band's campaign move of asking for pledges, there's a lot more to the deal than fans would expect.
